Just heard about the upcoming Mob Mass planned for this Sunday January 25 at 12:30pm at the Church of Our Lady of Peace (237 East 62nd Street). This lovely parish is one of the churches in danger of closing because of the Archdiocese's current machinations.
If you're interested in attending, just show up. Or click the images below for more details about the Mass and the church. If we can support these parishes, maybe so many wouldn't be in danger of being closed by the number crunchers, yes men and lifers of the Archdiocese.
The NYC Mass Mob just announced that they are looking for nominations for their next church:

it is a wonderful way to send help to those churches slated to close /merge .
The Mass Mob at Our Lady of Peace was really moving! SRO in the church and more downstairs watching on tv. The music was good- a brass band backing up the hymns - felt like a revival. Two kids at the front door gave wristbands that said 'save our Lady of Peace.' Wearing mine now. Keep celebrating these churches. Maybe the Cardinal will wake up. If not, the Vatican will.
ReplyDeleteHello, I just found your blog. I really enjoyed reading the content. As a young single Catholic adult, somewhat new to NYC, I'm planning to do some church hopping/exploring. So it was nice to find a blog like this. Do you have any suggestions for young Catholic adults to meet other young Catholic adults? Also, how can I subscribe to your blog? Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHi there! I highly suggest you check out the 515pm Sunday Mass at St. Paul the Apostle near Columbus Circle. They have an excellent young adult group called the Apostolists.
Deleteits nice post.
